Dear ESRT Supporter,
Thank you for your continuing interest in the development of a Rivers Trust for Essex and Suffolk.
Following an interesting and successful meeting yesterday a Formation Group has been established comprising those people present. The role of this group will be to work on various project ideas and opportunities that have already arisen in the area, and to pull together the administrative framework around which the charity can be created.
If you are interested in becoming more involved then please do let us know as the group is always looking for more expertise and assistance. In the meantime here’s a brief update.
Communications
As you may notice we have a new email address EssexSuffolkRT@gmail.com. The exact terms of reference of the Trust and it’s operating area are yet to be agreed but in the meantime this email address will form a public portal to contact us. Please feel free to circulate it to interested parties.
We now have a blog which will be updated with information and progress updates. https://essexsuffolkrt.wordpress.com/
Projects
We have several interesting projects at various stages of development, even as we remain very early in our own development. These include projects addressing Fish and eel passage, water availability, land management and flooding and community amenity.
Trust development
The Formation Group have agreed that we will draft a formal constitution and we shall be liaising with the national Rivers Trust to do this.
As you can see things are moving along nicely and if you wish to become involved please do not hesitate to get in touch.
